The cornerstone of LODGEMARKTM are the personal qualities of the hosts. All hosts are on-site and have hands-on management of lodge day to day activities. From you initial accommodation inquiry to your departure you will receive courteous, knowledgeable and professional assistance. Your hosts will respect your privacy, while being available to give you friendly service, local information and organising further reservations.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation at a LODGEMARKTM approved luxury lodges is always of the highest quality with attention to buildings of interesting construction, well-developed grounds and adequate car parking. All reflect thoughtful architectural design and sound construction. Care has been taken with sound-proofing and insulation with an emphasis on environmentally friendly design. The properties are generally small and intimate catering for up to 10 guests in five suites.

FACILITIES and APPOINTMENTS
Once inside your lodge you will find a bedroom or suite with either an ensuite bathroom or private bathroom. Large fluffy towels, robes, toiletries along with quality bathroom fittings. Comfortable beds of either queen or king size with designer linen is the standard. Guest rooms and/or lounges with be equipped with your own TV and CD player plus you will have tea and coffee making facilities. Guests will have access to lounges, decks, and courtyards.

LOCATION
To gain LODGEMARKTM approval lodges must have LOCATION. Such location that reflects NEW Zealand’s scenic beauty such as expansive views of sea, rivers or lakes, or be situated in grand alpine regions or rolling farmland or bush. Other property locations can reflect the country’s historical and/or cultural roots.
Regardless of where in New Zealand the lodge is located they must have and adhere to an environmental code that minimise impact of tourism on the environment and protects those special features that make the country so attractive to visitors.

MEALS
The quality of a LODGEMARKTM property is very evident in the meals that are provided. Throughout you stay you will have free access to tea and coffee, fruit juices, filtered water and snacks. Your day will start with a sumptuous breakfast with a menu that will encompass all of your wants with everything from coffee and crumpets to a full breakfast. With most properties dinner is an option however some may offer an inclusive dinner package. Dinner menus reflect New Zealand and often local produce and are served with an emphasis on quality and style. Those lodges that do not provide dinner will have a special arrangement with a number of handpicked recommended local restaurants. Picnic hampers, barbecue meals and lunches are available at most lodges.

SERVICES and ACTIVITIES
Staying at a LODGEMARKTM luxury lodge brings a wide range of extras and usually free services and activities. By way of lodge-based features you can expect to find Internet and fax access. While outdoors cycling, kayaking, sailing, swimming, petanque can be on your doorstep and within easy reach you could find hiking, golfing, fishing, and skiing. Lodges will list and/or advise you of what they can offer. Touring is always popular with guests and your hosts will be able to provide you with information and suggestions for both local and regional tours and points of interest.

PRICING/TARIFFS
LODGEMARKTM luxury lodges are indeed unique and special places that offer high quality accommodation and service but that does not mean that they are expensive. They are positioned mid-range in the hosted accommodation market being between $NZ200 to $NZ500 per night per couple including breakfast.
